Five things, and you're playing
For tournament play, all equipment must meet the FISTF Equipment Homologation Guide.
The board
A flat, rigid board of about 40 by 60 inches, ideally made of MDF. A fence of six studs, about 4 inches tall and 2 inches wide, runs around the pitch and keeps the ball in play.
Everything you need for it is available at home improvement stores.
The pitch
The playing surface laid over the board, made of a felt-like cloth and marked out like a football pitch.
The goals
Two goals, one at each end of the pitch.
The ball
A ball made specifically for Subbuteo, sized for the figures and the pitch.
The teams
Two Subbuteo teams: the figures on rounded bases that you flick to pass, shoot and defend. Each team has ten outfield players and a goalkeeper.
